Gratitude: produces a disposition to make a suitable return of benefits.
Pastor Travis Hyatt asked the congregation to write down 5 things that they were thankful for. The overwhelming majority wrote down things like "being saved, family, peace, health, and friends." Those are the "important" things, not "stuff."
Showing practical gratitude lets God and others know that we are indeed thankful and grateful.
